My Quest For The Perfect Tinted Moisturiser - A Review For My Pure

If I'm honest I have to say I'm quite scared of tinted moisturisers. My skin isn't that great I'm prone to blemishes and oily patches, and I'm always afraid that tinted moisturisers won't provided enough coverage and that they'll make my skin look even more shiny. Despite that though sometimes I don't always want the heavy coverage that a foundation can give, if I'm not going out sometimes I just want something to even out my skin tone and gave my skin a bit of radiance. Still on the lookout for my perfect tinted moisturiser I decided to try another one from the My Pure inventory.

On the whole I've been pretty impressed with my previous items from New Zealand's premier natural beauty company Living Nature, the eyeshadow and blush were particular favourites, so I  thought I'd try out one of their tinted moisturisers.

Living Nature Clear Lights Tinted Moisturiser is designed to protect the skin, and provide a sheer natural coverage  Containing ingredients such as macadamia, jojoba, and  avocado oils, as well as manuka honey, vitamin e and shea butter, it comes in 3 shades, I went for the lightest shade Dawn Light which is currently a perfect match for my skin.

It comes boxed, and packaged in a chunky feel 50ml plastic tube. All it takes is a little squeeze to release the product. The key word here is little, you do have a tendency to dispense to much product at once, this is definitely one of those products where less is more.

The moisturiser itself has quite a strong aroma of geranium essential oil, another key ingredient in the product. It is quite strong at first but it's not unpleasant and it does fade in time.

The moisturiser has a super creamy texture, and it spreads super easily on the skin

I tended to apply it on bare skin with my fingertips, it spread out quite easily and to be honest you really don't need very much. It's one of the products which you can build up for a better coverage - OK time to be brave, how about some before's and afters.

Before

As you can in these pictures my skin has a lot of blemishes, redness, and quite and uneven texture

After

It's probably not that easy to see in these pictures, but in real life with this tinted moisturiser my skin is a lot more radiant and a lot more even in tone, the redness and the blemishes certainly aren't as obvious.

So how does this product compare with my usual view of tinted moisturisers ? Well the coverage is pretty good and as I say you can build the coverage by applying more product, but I can still see areas where I would use a bit of concealer alongside this product. What about my other usual problem with tinted moisturisers - the shine ? Used on it's own the moisturiser lasts pretty well, but the shine does come through quite quickly, I tried using it over a primer and alongside a mattifying face powder and I definitely saw a marked improvement, in fact several people even complimented me on how clear my skin looked - result.

No this tinted moisturiser isn't perfect by a long shot, and at £20 it certain it certainly isn't cheap, but in my opinion it is pretty good, the coverage is decent and it given the skin a nice, natural radiant finish. If you have a slightly drier skin and your looking for a tinted moisturiser from a company with natural credentials, this could be the one for you. Living Nature Clear Lights Tinted Moisturiser 50ml comes in 3 shades and retails at £20.00 from My Pure. Any questions please ask and if you have any recommendations for tinted moisturisers for oily skin please leave me a comment x

  1. I think you'd really like the NARS tinted moisturiser, Lou. I'm considering picking up a full size after trying a sample...it's 'radiant' but not shiny at all on my skin which is oily/combination. MAC Studio Moisture tint is also pretty good - have you tried that?Xx
