Smooth Shimmery Lips With Yes For Carrots ? - A Review For My Pure

Yes To Carrots is yet another brand that I would never have heard of if it wasn't for the internet and my fellow blogging chums. I've read several posts raving about their skincare line, and items from their sister brands Yes To Blueberries, Yes To Cucumbers and Yes To Tomatoes, and as a result I was keen to try something from the brand. My prayers were answered last month when the Yes To brands appeared on My Pure - there was a problem though I am currently in the middle of testing quite a few skincare products already so I decided to go for something a bit different.

As well as skincare, haircare, and bodycare products Yes To Carrots also produce a range of lip care and colour products, including balms, butters, and lip glosses all of which contain carrot root extract. I decided to go for one of their C Me Blush Lip Tints.

Packed with moisturising ingredients such as coconut oil, olive oil and Shea butter, these lip tints are 95% organic, and are designed to moisturise and add a hint of colour to the lips.

They come packed in a traditional twist up lip balm style tube, the first thing I noticed is how thin the tube it, normal high street balms are nearly double the thickness of this one - you still get 2.6g of product though which isn't bad.

This product comes in 6 shades and the one I went for was Cotton Candy, to be honest it's quite hard to chose a colour from the website, they don't have a swatch section like they do with the rest of their make up products.

By the name I was expecting something a bit pinker, it looks quite pink in the tube, but in the swatch and on the lips it's very sheer with quite a bit of white / silver sparkle.

This picture isn't that great to be honest boo to bad lighting but the finish isn't that obvious even in real life you just see a slightly paler tint to the lips and of course the sparkle

The balm itself feel a little bit gritty when you put it on the lips, probably because of the sparkle, but it is quite moisturising. A warning though this product does contain peppermint oil so you do get that cool tingly feeling on the lips - it's not fierce like some products but you can definitely feel it.

How do I feel about this product? - well to be honest I'm a bit meh about it. I don't dislike it, but I don't love it either. Maybe I would have been better off with a different colour, I don't know but I have products that provide more colour, and are a lot more moisturising than this so I probably wouldn't repurchase this product. Yes For Carrots C Me Blush Lip Tint retails at £4.99 for 2.6g from My Pure. I certainly won't let this experience put me off trying more products from the range so if you can recommend anything from any of the Yes For stables or if you have any questions please leave me a comment x
