Foodie Friday - What I Ate Today And A Little Recipe

Well it's Friday so what does that mean, Foodie Friday of course :) Next week's post is going to be a bumper one with two recipes for some Christmas sweet treats, but I thought I'd ease you in gently this week with a  simple What I Ate Today post :) Unusually for me I had a super early start today, me and Mummy Lou braved, the early morning ice, snow and freezing fog to get to the Metro Centre for 9am. No prizes for guessing why, for this of course!

Yes the Soap & Glory Star Gift, marked down from £60, to just £27 - Bargain! Virtually every person who entered the shop whilst I was there bought at least one, and I even saw two people with about 6 of them each! Madness!

Anyway an early start and a freezing cold morning meant a proper breakfast was in order...............

Breakfast

Oatso Simple Golden Syrup made with semi skimmed Milk and a chopped banana. Warming and filling.

Lunch

I had a very naughty lunch, a rather squished Salted Caramel Krispy Kreme, and a Pepsi Max. Thanks to the opening of the  Metro Centre Hotlight store, several more Krispy Kreme stores have opened across the North East in Durham, Sunderland and in Newcastle. Not only that but most North East Tesco stores are now selling Krispy Kremes including the little one just up the street from me. Dangerous territory indeed having them virtually on my doorstep - my poor tummy doesn't like the wheat and gluten but I can't resist them - bad times!

Dinner

It was my turn to make dinner and I couldn't really be bothered to do anything complicated, so I made a basic pasta dish which is a quick and tasty stand by. I cooked some chopped mushrooms and garlic in some butter, I threw in a few chopped pickled jalapenos and some cherry tomatoes, then I mixed in about 1/2 - 3/4 of a tub of cream cheese, and heated it until it was melted. I then mixed the mushroom and cheese mix  into some cooked gluten free pasta, and voila dinner in less than 20 minutes! This is super quick and easy to do, you can stick a spoonful of pesto in too or some sweet chilli sauce or you can use a flavoured cream cheese such garlic and herb, or basil, and you can also throw in what other veggies you would like and I'm even lead to believe this works nicely with a few prawns thrown in too. I just made this with normal mushrooms but it's also really nice with chestnut mushrooms which give a more meaty feel. With my pasta I had another 500 ml bottle Pepsi Max.

Snacks

Me and Mummy Lou also went to Yankee Doodle Candy this morning to get me something for my Christmas stocking (a box of mini Butterfingers - YUM) so we picked up a little treat each which we decided to half - so I had one white chocolate peanut butter cup, and half a peanut butter Snickers :) Today was also Graze Box day, I had two punnets and gave the other two to Mummy Lou. I had the Yaki Soba, which is soba peanuts, edamame beans, chilli and lemon chickpea noodles and chilli broad beans. I also had the Toffee Apple (not pictured), which is a punnet of dried apple and toffee sauce yum! I also had a cup of tea and some sparkling water.

So that was my food intake today, it started off okay but went a bit downhill after that. From that you can probably gather that my Pre-Christmas diet plans have right out of the window, in fact I don't think I ever really got started!! Never mind my next post will be perfect for you if your diet plans didn't work out either, until then if you have any questions please leave me a comment xx
