Tired Of Shopping For Other People - Treat Yourself With Zalando

Before I start this post I think an apology is due - this post really should have been up last week before those guaranteed Christmas delivery dates started to pass but the I've came down with the dreaded lurgy again and I haven't really felt up to posting much.

About this time last year I was contacted by online international retailer Zalando, who kindly sent me a few products to try out, well I was contacted by them again this year and I was kindly emailed a £30 voucher to spend on their site.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the brand, Zalando was originally set up in Germany as an online shoe retailer, since then though they've expanded their business internationally and sell exclusively online right the way across Europe including now in the UK. They've also branched out from just selling shoes and they now sell a wide range of women's high street and designer clothing, accessories and even toiletries and cosmetics, as well as men's and children's clothing, shoes and accessories.

My initial post was going to be full of gift ideas but since Zalando's Christmas delivery guarantee ended on the 16th December instead I'm going to give you a few ideas on how to spend any Christmas money you receive or how to treat yourself before Christmas x

First of all I've got a few ideas from the more designer end of the spectrum, Zalando sell a wide range of designer labels including By Malene Birger, Calvin Klein, DKNY, EMU Australia, Michael Kors, MW Matthew Williamson, and Paul and Joe. Obviously these brands are going to be at a price point but if Santa has been super generous this year, then maybe there might be something here that you like :)

EMU Austraila Stinger Lo Boots - Brown - £150

OK I now that not everyone is a fan of the ugly style of boot, but I am and I know lots of you guys are too There so warm and comfortable that you could by wearing slippers. I have several pairs of EMU boots including some Stinger Minis, and I think they are well worth the money. You can't put a price on comfort x Zalando also sell Uggs too if you prefer that brand x

DKNY Across Body Bag - Brown - Was £170 Now £120

You can't get any more designer than a nice designer handbag, and I'd love it if Santa would bring me this one or enough money to afford it - I can dream on. In the saddle style it made of 100% leather and I love it, Oh and it's on sale what more could you want as a post Christmas treat :)

Fendi Multicoloured Silk Scarf - Was £210 Now £115

Even when I'm thinking about designer items I'm still after a bargain, and you don't get much more of a saving then £95. I love my scarves, they can really liven up a plain outfit especially when their as colourful as this one is :)

OK those items were most definitely at the higher end of the scale but Zalando's clothing and accessories departments also include items for all budgets from brands you may have heard of such as Ted Baker, Kookai, Jane Norman and French Connection, to brands you might not be as familiar with such as Even and Odd, Anna Field, Emoi, and even their own exclusive Zalando label.

Ted Baker Glowbye Wash Bag - Black - £25

OK this isn't cheap as far as a toiletry bag goes but it's so cute. I love the black and gold glittery shade and I love bows. Zalando also sell the I Pad cases and the phone cases.

French Connection Lena Basic T-Shirt -Black Was £42 Now £34 and Beige Was £42 Now £29

Another sale item here, but I had to include this one - the lace detail makes it so current and I think that this is a top that could be worn casually or dressed up - I love it x

Even and Odd Jumper - Blue or Purple - Was £37 Now £29

If Santa didn't bring you a cosy jumper this year then maybe this one will fit the bill. This long line jumper has distressed detailing to give it a modern touch. I particularly love the blue.

Emoi Cardigan - Blue or Grey - £34.00

This was the item that I chose to spend my voucher on, at the time it was on special so I got it for £30. I have to say I love it. In the mid length style, it's open fronted and fastens with a tie belt.

It comes in a grey and in the blue that I got. It's made of a viscose and poly acrylic mix. The main body of the cardigan feels like a traditional knit, but the front is trimmed with an almost chiffon type fabric in a slightly brighter shade of blue, giving the impression that you are wearing a scarf with it.

I went for the size XL which is fine for me as a size 16-18, but because it doesn't fasten with buttons the sizing is quite flexible. Despite the lightweight nature of this cardigan it is actually really warm and cosy. The style of the cardigan means you can wear it casually as I have here with jeggings and warm boots.

However the chiffon trim gives it a more glam edge meaning you could wear it with a smart pair of trousers, and some sparkly jewellery.

I really love this cardigan and I know I'll wear it lots. This cardigan is just one of the lovely and wearable clothing items that are featured on the Zalando website, and with free delivery and free returns there really is no risk. I was very impressed with my Zalando experience last year and I've been equally impressed with this years experience too. The site provides plenty of choice for all budgets, and I was even more impressed to find more plus sized items this time round. If your looking for somewhere new to spend your pennies online over the holiday period and into 2013 then Zalando is well worth a look. Have you ever shopped at Zalando, let me know in the comments xx
