C Me Smile - A Review For My Pure xx

I don't about where you are, but the weather today in my little part of Co Durham is horrid, rain and sleet showers on and off all day, and tomorrow it's supposed to snow !!! Horrid weather means one thing for me -dry bits, be it on my hands or on my lips. I've majorly got into lip balm again over the last month or so and it's proved to be a real life saver. I have my favourites but I love trying out new ones, so for one of January's My Pure Reviews I decided to try out another product from Yes To Carrots.

The Yes To Carrots C Me Smile Lip Butter, comes in 5 flavours, Berry, Carrot, Melon, Mint and the one I tried Citrus.

In the familiar twist up style bullet style this lip balm is certified organic, and like everything else sold by My Pure it contains no sulfates, or parabens, and it's mineral oil and petroleum free. This Citrus variety contains ingredients such as coconut, olive and sunflower seed oils, beeswax, and shea butter. It also contains orange, grapefruit, pumpkin, carrot and melon extracts.

I have to admit that this product doesn't look that exciting in the tube, it has the same clear, off white appearance that you would expect from a lip balm of this style..

It has a subtle citrus smell, and taste, and a smooth moist feel on the lips. The key thing about this balm for me is that it isn't too greasy or sticky. Unlike some balms that just sit on the lips and feel greasy and sticky, this one actual seems to penetrate the lips, and immediately leaves them feeling softer and more comfortable. It also makes a nice lipstick base just give it a few minutes to soak in before your lipstick or gently blot it with a tissue. Here's a picture of what it looks like on this lips just after being applied :)

I have to say I really like this lip balm I'm not a huge fan of lip balms that stick to your lips, the V word I'm talking about you!, and this does the exact opposite, it leaves the lips feeling more comfortable and more subtle in minutes. If your looking for a lip balm with an SPF though then this won't be for you, I also probably wouldn't recommend this for you if your lips are, very, very dry cracked and painful, as I don't think it would be quite moisturising enough. If your looking for an everyday lip balm which is free from nasties then I would definitely recommend this one - I will definitely consider repurchasing when I've used up the contents of my lip balm drawer. The Yes To Carrots C Me Smile Lip Butter comes in 5 varieties and retails at £2.99 for 4.25g from My Pure. If you have any questions please leave me a comment I love reading what you have to say xx
